South Sudan’s risk of returning to war is increasing, as corruption, political paralysis, and weak leadership continue to threaten peace. According to experts, the government has failed in implementing major parts of the 2018 peace agreement, while rival leaders remain divided. Reports detail how senior officials have pocketed millions in public funds through illicit contracts and secret bank accounts, while ordinary citizens struggle with poverty and hunger. Corruption has undermined national institutions and driven violence at a local level, with some leaders exploiting ethnic divisions for personal gain. The United Nations and other observers warn that unless real political reform and accountability take center stage, South Sudan could once again fall into large-scale conflict. Meanwhile, record floods and lingering food shortages are worsening the humanitarian crisis, as hundreds of thousands flee. Experts assert that urgent action is needed to fight corruption, restore trust, and secure lasting peace.

Pray for the end of the political unrest in South Sudan. Pray for the LORD to touch the hearts of the political leaders in the country, so that they find a peaceful resolution to their differences. Pray for peace and reconciliation between them, in the Mighty Name of our LORD, Jesus Christ (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:1).

Pray for reforms and breakthroughs in South Sudan’s Governance. Pray for the truth, transparency, and justice to uproot corruption at every level of government in the country (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 16:19).

Pray for divine provision for all the South Sudanese people as they suffer a food crisis in the country. Pray for divine protection and a haven for all the flood victims in South Sudan (The Holy Bible, Psalm 70:1).
