Saudi Arabia has executed a total of 300 people so far in 2025, including two men who were convicted of crimes committed when they were children. One of the latest cases involved Abdullah al-Derazi, who was accused of offenses committed while he was under 18. Earlier this year, another young man, Jalal al-Labbad, who was reportedly 15 at the time of his alleged crimes, was also executed. Human rights organizations have raised serious concerns, saying the trials were unfair and that the accused may have been forced to give confessions. There are also worries about inadequate legal representation and insufficient evidence in these cases. International law prohibits executing anyone for offenses committed as a child, but these executions show that Saudi Arabia is violating that rule. Human rights groups are calling on the government to stop all executions of people convicted of crimes as minors and to review the cases of those still on death row.
Pray for the government of Saudi Arabia to adhere to the international human rights laws and to stop the execution of child offenders. Pray for the immediate and unconditional release of all victims of human rights violations in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8-10).
Pray for fair and transparent trials and prosecutions of allegations against child offenders in Saudi Arabia. Pray for justice to be served for the victims (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 29:26).
