Gakiling Gewog in Haa Dzongkhag is struggling with major roadblocks after heavy rain on October 4, 2025, and Cyclone Montha. Landslides and floods cut off the Haa–Samtse highway, the Gewog Centre road, and several farm roads. Fuel for machines cannot reach the area, slowing road clearing. Although the Haa side was reopened on November 11, the Samtse side is still blocked, leaving one chiwog completely isolated. The gewog now faces financial strain because development funds must be used for repair work, and leaders worry they may not meet the 60% expenditure target for March 2026. Farmers are the hardest hit. Around 65 households cannot sell cardamom and oranges due to blocked roads. In Tanga village, farmers fear price drops and income losses, and say their livelihoods depend on quick road restoration.

Abba Father, we pray for the fast restoration of all damaged roads in Gakiling. Guide the workers, protect them, and clear every obstacle so that life can return to normal. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 37:5).

Lord, comfort every family affected by the disaster. Give them peace, strength, and endurance as they wait for help. Surround them with Your protection and provide for their needs. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:18).
