Armed men stormed St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, and kidnapped many pupils and staff. The attack occurred on November 21, 2025, when the kidnappers stormed the school with many motorbikes and vans. The school, which has both primary and secondary students, was invaded at night. Many young children were taken away, some as young as four or six years old. Some of the older students managed to escape. Families are in deep pain, with parents searching through the bush and crying for their children. Security forces have now rescued 100 of the abducted students, and the children will be released to their parents in groups, officials say. Reports say the rescued children are already on their way back to the town. Even after the rescue, at least 165 people remain missing. They include teachers, staff, and many pupils. The latest kidnapping incident occurred just days after the same incidents happened in Kebbi and Kwara states.
Praise GOD for the rescued 100 abducted students in Nigeria. Pray for the immediate and safe return of 165 kidnapped victims who are still missing. Pray for improved security system in the country (The Holy Bible, Luke 1:37).
Pray for the effective enforcement of laws against kidnappings and violence against innocent civilians, especially children, in Nigeria. Pray for the Nigerian government to implement more stringent measures to end kidnappings and to protect civilians from violent attacks (The Holy Bible, Psalm 22:20).
