Nigeria is facing a severe hunger crisis, with millions of children at risk of malnutrition. In northern Katsina State, hospitals are overwhelmed as mothers bring weak and sick children for urgent care. Aid groups warn that about 6.4 million children could become acutely malnourished by the end of 2026. The International Committee of the Red Cross says up to 33 million people in Nigeria may face severe hunger. Doctors and aid workers are struggling to cope with limited staff, poor funding, and weak supply systems. Many doctors are leaving the country, making the situation worse. Ongoing violence, climate problems, and rising living costs have made food harder to access. Health services are also underfunded, with very little money reaching hospitals. Aid groups are trying to help through mobile clinics and nutrition programs, but the need is growing fast. Experts say stronger government support and better planning are urgently needed to prevent more suffering.

Jehovah Jireh, we cry out for the millions in Nigeria, especially children, suffering from hunger and undernourishment. Open wider doors for unhindered humanitarian aid and health services to reach the people in need, especially children, at the right time (The Holy Bible, Psalm 146:7).

Jehovah Rapha, restore health to the sick and vulnerable battling diseases and malnutrition in Nigeria, especially the children and elderly. Heal the nation, O LORD! (The Holy Bible, 2 Chronicles 7:14).
