Unemployment in Morocco has become a very serious problem, especially for young people. The youth unemployment reached a record 37 percent in 2025, which means more than one-third of young Moroccans cannot find work. Many of these young people have university degrees, but the jobs they hope for do not exist. Others do not have the skills that the job market needs, so they also struggle to find stable work. Only 6.5 percent of workers in Morocco have permanent contracts, and most jobs are temporary or informal, offering little security. Because salaries are low and the cost of living is high, even people who find work often cannot meet their basic needs, especially in big cities. The government has started programs to help create jobs, support small businesses, and raise the minimum wage, but many young Moroccans feel these efforts are not enough. This deep unemployment crisis is a major reason behind the recent protests.

Pray for the government of Morocco to find an effective solution to end the growing unemployment crisis. Pray for the authorities to take action to create more job opportunities, promote domestic small businesses, and increase the minimum wages in the country (The Holy Bible, Job 12:13).

Pray for the LORD’s provision for all the families suffering unemployment and economic hardship in Morocco. Pray for the people, especially Moroccan youth, to have access to more economic opportunities (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).
