Israeli children are increasingly reporting online abuse themselves, a trend that both worries and encourages child safety experts. In 2025, more than half of all reports to Israel’s National Center for Protecting Children Online came directly from children, for the first time. The center handled 16,292 cases, representing a 71 percent increase from the previous year. Most reports involved sexual offenses, bullying, humiliation, or life-threatening situations, with victims mainly aged 12 to 15. Girls made up 55 percent of victims and boys 45 percent. Alarmingly, most offenders were also minors, showing that much of the harm happens between peers. Instagram, WhatsApp, and TikTok were the primary platforms involved, and a new WhatsApp reporting option resulted in thousands of cases. Since 2018, the center has handled over 76,000 incidents. It also offers free online counseling and runs awareness programs in schools to help keep children safe online.
Pray for stronger measures to keep children in Israel safe online. Pray for divine wisdom for the child safety experts to handle the children involved in the online abuse cases in the nation (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 22:6).
Pray for the authorities to take necessary action to curb the increasing online abuses in Israel. Pray for divine protection upon all the children in the nation from all evil. Pray that, like the arrows in the hands of a warrior, the young people in the country, in the Hands of the Almighty GOD, are doing HIS Purpose (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).
