On Sunday (1st March) afternoon in Beit Shemesh, about 30 people were inside a neighborhood bomb shelter when Iranian missiles struck. Oren Katz, a father of four, went to close the heavy reinforced door as sirens wailed. At that moment, the shelter was hit directly. Katz and eight others were killed, including four teenagers from two families. The explosion destroyed the synagogue above the shelter and damaged nearby homes and cars. Rescue teams said most people inside survived, but the scene was filled with fire, smoke, and fear. Some areas in Israel lack modern shelters, and older buildings may not be able to withstand powerful missiles. The attack shocked the quiet town, which had not expected to be a target. Families mourned their loved ones while sirens continued to sound. Survivors said they felt both grateful to be alive and afraid of future attacks. The tragedy showed the high cost of the ongoing war for ordinary civilians.

Pray for supernatural protection for all the civilians in Israel. Pray for the divine provision of the physical and psychological needs of the people, especially women and children, in the country during this time of uncertainty (The Holy Bible, Psalm 59:2).

Lord Holy Spirit, touch the hearts and minds of the warring parties so that they lift their eyes to Heaven and humble themselves in the Presence of the Most High GOD, who can put down those who walk in pride. Grant them, wise counsel, to end the war and to work according to the Will of the Almighty GOD (The Holy Bible, Daniel 4:34-35).
