The Kingdom marks the 64th birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II on Friday. Born in Amman on January 30, 1962, he is the eldest son of the late King Hussein and Princess Muna. Appointed Crown Prince in January 1999, King Abdullah assumed his constitutional duties as monarch on February 7, 1999, following the passing of King Hussein.

King Abdullah’s life reflects a strong commitment to education, military service, and national leadership. Educated in Jordan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, he trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, rose through the ranks of the Jordan Armed Forces, commanded the Royal Jordanian Special Forces, and served as a Cobra attack helicopter pilot. Alongside his military career, he pursued advanced studies in International Affairs at Georgetown University. Married to Her Majesty Queen Rania since 1993, the King is the father of Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma, and Prince Hashem, symbolizing continuity and stability for the Kingdom.
