A recent air strike in Kabul has caused heavy loss of life and raised tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Taliban government said the strike hit a drug rehabilitation hospital, killing many civilians, while Pakistan denied this and claimed it targeted militant sites. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan confirmed over 140 deaths and many injuries, though numbers may rise. Both sides blamed each other and used strong language online, exacerbating the situation. Pakistan says it is fighting terrorism, while the Taliban say they are defending their country. Tensions have grown since February, with air strikes, drones, and threats from both sides. Leaders have warned that more attacks are likely if the conflict continues. Although there may be a short pause during Eid, peace seems uncertain. Many people fear more violence and hope both sides will choose talks instead of war to protect innocent lives.

GOD of all comforts, have mercy on the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan suffering war and displacement. LORD, restore their destination towards safety and prosperity. We pray for Your comfort for the families of the deceased victims. We pray for Your Healing power upon all the injured (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:9).

Pray for both the Afghan and Pakistani governments to stop violent attacks and to come forward for peace talks. Pray for the LORD’s peace and justice to prevail between these two nations (The Holy Bible, Psalm 37:8).
