In Syria, the influence of ISIS affiliates is growing, even though there is no fully organized group. Many of these fighters escaped from open prisons during the conflict with Kurdish forces. Since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad, Kurdish fighters have lost ground, and ISIS affiliates have returned. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa says he protects minority groups, but ISIS affiliates operate freely. They force people in schools, streets, and churches to convert to radical Islam. Shops are closed, people are kidnapped, and eating in public during Ramadan can lead to prison. This fear makes it hard for Syrians to live normal lives, and many refugees do not want to return. Over 500,000 Syrian refugees live in Lebanon, where they see freedom and unity, unlike in Syria. Some refugees may return to peaceful areas, guided by aid groups like Triumphant Mercy Lebanon, which helps them find hope and safety in their country.

Pray for the Syrian government to take immediate action against the growing influence of ISIS affiliates in the nation. Pray for the LORD’S peace to prevail in Syria (The Holy Bible, Psalm 55:18).

Pray for divine protection upon all the returnees, women, and minorities in Syria. Pray for divine provision for all the Syrian families. Pray for the LORD to bless them with hope and a bright future (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 31:17).
