In South Sudan, many people are facing extreme hunger because of war and big cuts in food aid. Fighting has destroyed homes, farms, and markets, leaving families with little or no food. Many children and adults are eating leaves, wild grasses, and roots just to survive. The World Food Programme is trying to help by delivering food by plane to hard-to-reach areas, but funding is falling. Experts warn that next year, more than half of South Sudan’s population could face severe food shortages. In some areas, tens of thousands of people may reach the worst hunger stage, called IPC 5, which is like famine. Because of reduced funding, food rations have been cut in many regions. If aid does not increase soon, millions more people will be in danger. Urgent help is needed to prevent a larger disaster and save lives.

Pray for more funding to assist the people of South Sudan who are suffering a hunger crisis. Pray for the resumption of food rations for cut-off regions in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 124:8).

Pray for divine provision for all the South Sudanese families in need. Pray for peace and protection upon all the people in Sudan from war and natural calamities (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
