An unknown number of aid workers are missing after air strikes hit a hospital in Jonglei state, South Sudan, near the border with Ethiopia. The hospital was run by Doctors Without Borders, also known as MSF. The charity said the hospital in Lankien was hit overnight by air strikes carried out by South Sudan government forces. The building was badly damaged, medical supplies were destroyed, and one staff member was injured. MSF said staff had evacuated patients earlier after receiving warnings about a possible attack. On the same day, another MSF health facility in Pieri was looted by unknown attackers, making it unusable. Aid workers were forced to flee, and their current location is unknown. Jonglei state has seen renewed fighting between government forces and opposition groups loyal to Riek Machar. Around 280,000 people have been displaced since December. MSF warned that without its facilities, hundreds of thousands of people could be left without any healthcare.
Pray for the spirit of reconciliation and the spirit of oneness among the leaders in South Sudan. Pray for the end of the violence and restoration of stability in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 82:3).
Pray for divine protection upon all the innocent civilians, as well as aid workers in South Sudan. Pray for the safe return of all the missing aid workers in the nation. Pray for the divine provision of food, clean drinking water, healthcare, and other necessities and rights for all people in need throughout the country (The Holy Bible, Zechariah 2:8).
