Afghan women face severe obstacles in sports under Taliban rule. Samira Asghari, one of the youngest members of the International Olympic Committee, is calling for renewed opportunities for girls in Afghanistan. She argues that real change can only happen through dialogue with the Taliban, even if that seems difficult. Asghari believes sports should begin at the earliest level, like in primary schools, to build momentum for the future. Under the Taliban, girls have almost no access to sports: there are few facilities, and many cannot train safely or freely. She also stresses that Afghan athletes living abroad should not be forgotten; supporting them can help build a stronger national presence. Asghari urges young women not to lose hope, saying that even small chances matter. She dreams of an Afghan Olympic team returning by 2028, and she is working step by step to make that vision possible.

Pray against gender-based discrimination in Afghanistan. Pray for a spiritual breakthrough among the Taliban authorities to lift the oppressive rules against women and girls in the nation (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:1).

Pray for the LORD to open doors of rights and freedoms for all the women and girls in Afghanistan to pursue their dreams without any hindrances. Pray for a way for the Afghan women athletes to shine for HIS Glory in the international forum, for nothing is impossible with the LORD (The Holy Bible, Matthew 19:26).
