The Lebanese group Hezbollah is rebuilding its weapons and forces, despite a cease-fire deal with Israel. Reports from Israeli and Arab officials say Hezbollah is bringing in rockets, anti-tank missiles, and artillery from outside the country. Some weapons come through smuggling routes in Syria and Lebanese ports, and some are made inside Lebanon. The cease-fire agreement said Hezbollah should not have weapons in certain areas, but the group is ignoring those rules. This situation is worrying many people because it could lead to new fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. The Lebanese government is under pressure because Hezbollah is not only a military group but also a strong political force. Many Lebanese citizens support it, so the government finds it hard to disarm the group. Experts warn that if the rearming continues, peace in the region could be lost again.
Pray for wise counsel for the Lebanese authorities to disarm Hezbollah and to protect the people from further conflict. Pray for peace and friendly relations between Lebanon and Israel (The Holy Bible, Job 12:13).
Pray against extremism in Lebanon. Pray for the LORD’S intervention in the country to uproot all the terrorist groups and their strongholds. Pray for the LORD to open the eyes and minds of the civilians to see the destructive evil forces of Hezbollah against the peace and prosperity of the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 40:14).
