Iran is facing a worsening nutrition crisis, with about 120,000 deaths each year linked to poor diets. Around 35% of all deaths are tied to malnutrition, caused by high food prices, reduced intake of dairy, meat, fruits, and vegetables, and severe vitamin deficiencies—especially vitamin D, which affects up to 70% of the population.

Many families, particularly in poorer provinces, can no longer afford nutritious food or supplements. The crisis has led to child obesity, stunted growth, and rising chronic diseases. Experts warn that without urgent action, Iran could face lasting impacts on public health and future generations.

Abba Father, protect Iran’s children and mothers. Heal those who are malnourished and strengthen pregnant women so future generations may thrive in body, mind, and spirit. Let Your hand of mercy raise up healthy, intelligent, and hopeful youth for the nation’s future. Amen (The holy Bible, Psalm 113:9).

Lord, grant Iran’s leaders wisdom and compassion to act swiftly and justly. May they create policies that bring nourishment, fairness, and dignity to their people. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 82:3).
