Many families still search for their missing loved ones after years of war in Syria. Mass graves continue to appear where the rebels used to have control. Individuals such as Kasim excavate very carefully to uncover bones and clothing, seeking to know what has happened. His brother Samer vanished when he stepped out of the house due to hunger during the war. The government, which is commanded by Bashar al-Assad, is held accountable for most of the disappearances and murders. Some survivors share tales of attack and loss, while families converge to commiserate and demand justice. Many desire that perpetrators, including Assad, be put on trial. A new commission attempts to assist, but it is short of resources and DNA facilities to help identify bodies. Even today, with Assad’s fall from power, families wait patiently but fear the truth will take years. The dream for justice and explanations remains alive for Syrians who lost so much.

Pray for the LORD to heal physically and psychologically all the war victims in Syria and give them hope and a bright future in their homeland. Pray for an effective restoration process in the country (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 57:18).

Pray that perpetrators behind the war crimes are quickly brought to justice in Syria. Pray for the Syrian lawmakers to take action to defend justice for the war victims in the country (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 1:17).
