Violence in Sudan’s Darfur region has killed at least 114 people in the past week, according to medical sources. Attacks by the Rapid Support Forces killed 63 civilians in the town of Kernoi, while army drone strikes on the RSF-controlled town of Al-Zuruq killed 51 people in markets and residential areas. Sudan has been at war since April 2023, with fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF. Both sides are accused of attacking civilians and destroying vital infrastructure. Darfur has been the hardest-hit region, and many areas are closed to journalists. Local volunteers and doctors use satellite internet to share information with the world. The United Nations warns of a growing humanitarian disaster, especially for children. UNICEF reports very high levels of child malnutrition in North Darfur. Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes, most of them women and children. Many now live without enough food, medicine, or clean water.

Pray for the LORD’s comfort upon all the people in Sudan, especially children, suffering war and the loss of family members and friends. Pray that the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against the enmity, violence, and hatred that are prevailing in the country (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 59:19).

Pray for divine protection and provision for all the people in Sudan, especially children. Pray for the immediate provision of emergency care and other essential needs and rights for those in need. Pray for the end of war and violence in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 31:15).
