More than 100 armed jihadists attacked the villages of Woro and Nuku in Kwara State, western Nigeria, killing at least 75 people. The attackers arrived on motorbikes, dressed in army uniforms, and began the violence before sunset as farmers were returning home. They first went to the house of the traditional leader, Umar Bio Salihu, after the community rejected their request to preach extremist religious ideas. When he was not there, they burned his home and killed two of his children. The militants then carried out killings throughout the night, targeting civilians, vigilantes, and community leaders. Many victims were found tied up, shot, or had their throats slit, and 38 women and children were abducted. Residents said they had received warnings before the attack and had informed security forces, but help did not arrive in time. Homes and shops were destroyed, and survivors were left traumatized. The Nigerian government blamed Boko Haram, and troops were later deployed to the area.

Pray for the Nigerian authorities to take immediate and effective action to end the terrorism in the nation. Pray for the release and safe return of all the kidnapped victims in Nigeria. Pray for the evil-doers behind these attacks to be brought to justice immediately. Pray for divine peace and justice to prevail in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
