The Nigerien military drone strike caused at least 17 casualties, including four children, at a market in Niger on January 6, 2026, as it unfolded on a busy market day in Kokoloko, a village situated near the border with Burkina Faso in the West African nation, where civilians gathered as the incident happened. Three Islamists were killed during this strike, while at least 13 others suffered injuries, with many victims underwater as fires quickly spread through the market stalls, badly burning victims as they happened, as a drone flew over the market, dropping a weapon, as there were women, children, and traders at the market. The military strike was deliberate, an act of war that ignored laws protecting civilians, and this strike has been deemed an offense that breached war laws, as civilians must be protected, regardless of their role, and there was no response from the military about this incident as all of Kokoloko Village fled to neighboring villages and Mali as a result of this strike that took place on January 6, 2026.

Pray for a transparent investigation into the recent Nigerien military drone strike in the market area. Pray for the perpetrators behind the violent attacks to be brought to justice quickly. Pray for divine protection for the innocent civilians in Niger. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 140:1).

Pray against all the terrorist groups acting in Niger and the Sahel region. Pray for the LORD’s intervention to break every chain of violence and extremism prevailing in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 3:7).
