Jordan is experiencing a deepening weather system caused by a cold, moist air mass advancing into the eastern Mediterranean and aligning with a surface low-pressure system. This combination has increased atmospheric instability, resulting in significant temperature drops and the formation of vertically developed thunderclouds capable of producing heavy rain and hail. Rainfall is expected to intensify across central, southwestern, and northern regions including Amman, Balqa, Madaba, the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley, Irbid, Ajloun, and Jerash with lower chances in Aqaba. The Meteorology Department warns of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas due to rapid water accumulation. Jordan’s topography, especially the western highlands, amplifies rainfall through orographic lifting, while valleys remain highly vulnerable. Radar and satellite imagery continue to play a crucial role in tracking cloud development and issuing real-time warnings.

Abba Father, shield the people of Jordan from flash floods and dangerous weather. Place a hedge of safety around every family and community. Lord, calm every heart as the weather intensifies. Let Your peace rest on the people, giving them comfort and hope. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 107:29).

Lord, guide meteorologists, civil defense teams, and authorities as they work to warn and protect the nation. Grant them clarity, wisdom, and strength. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 3:13).
