The country is facing increasing climate instability as changing monsoon patterns cause floods, droughts, and landslides, disrupting agriculture, forests, and hydropower. The World Meteorological Organization warns of record-high temperatures and erratic rainfall between 2025 and 2029, with wetter summers and drier winters threatening rural livelihoods. Farmers are struggling with unpredictable planting seasons, declining crop yields, and fruit losses, while forests face fires and landslides. Hydropower operations are also strained by inconsistent river flows. The National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology reveals major gaps in monitoring systems, with limited data from weather stations and weak forecasting capacity. The NCHM roadmap calls for a national water data strategy and stronger hydromet networks to build resilience and protect agriculture, energy, and ecosystems from worsening climate impacts.
Abba Father, bless the farmers who depend on Your provision. Grant them wisdom to adapt and strength to endure uncertain times. Let their fields flourish again with life and abundance. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 28:12).
Lord, renew the hope of every community affected by climate change. Help them rise with courage and faith, trusting that Your grace will sustain them through every challenge. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 40:31).
