Indonesia has around 792 people groups. Out of these, about 237 groups, nearly 30 percent, are unreached, which means they have little or no access to the gospel. About 199.7 million people live in these unreached groups, which is roughly 70 percent of the population. Although about 11.4 percent of Indonesians identify as Christian, only 3.2 percent are evangelicals. Indonesia has many ethnic groups, languages, islands, and strong cultural and religious traditions, so many communities remain without a gospel witness. In some areas, the gospel has reached only a few people, and local churches are often very small or nonexistent. Reaching these large unreached populations is a major challenge. Many groups have never heard Christian teaching in their own language. Helping them requires workers who understand local cultures, languages, and daily life. This makes spreading the gospel in Indonesia complex and slow.
Pray for the Holy Spirit of GOD to equip the Christian community in Indonesia to share the Gospel with others effectively. Pray for the LORD to use them and mission workers among the unreached, like Philip, who brought great joy to the city of Samaria (The Holy Bible, Acts 8:5-8).
Pray for a spiritual hunger among the unreached in Indonesia that will be satisfied by none other than the only Savior, Jesus Christ (The Holy Bible, John 6:35).
