Thailand’s Khaosod newspaper reported that the Thai military will return 18 detained Cambodian soldiers to Cambodia on November 12, 2025, through the Ban Pak Kat–Pailin border crossing.
The soldiers were arrested on July 29, 2025, a day after both nations agreed to a ceasefire. Their release fulfills Point 5 of the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Statement on Peace, signed on October 26, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur by the leaders of Cambodia, Thailand, the United States, and Malaysia, symbolizing a renewed step toward peace and reconciliation in the region.
Abba Father, bring healing to all who suffered from conflict. Teach both sides to forgive and move forward with grace. May Your mercy cover past wounds and open hearts to reconciliation. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Holy Bible, Ephesians 4:32).
Lord, bring hope to those who long for peace. Restore broken communities and let this moment mark the beginning of new cooperation and unity in Southeast Asia. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
