Tensions between Cambodia and Thailand escalated this week after a Cambodian villager, Dy Nai, was reportedly killed during a cross-border shooting incident. The clash happened two days after a Thai soldier lost his foot to a land mine, which Thailand blamed on Cambodia—prompting Thailand to partially suspend a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. Cambodia evacuated about 250 families from Prey Chan village due to safety concerns. Both nations traded accusations over who initiated the shooting and who violated the truce. Cambodia called for an independent investigation, while Thailand demanded an apology and stricter enforcement of ceasefire terms. The border remains volatile, with unresolved territorial disputes and historical tensions continuing to fuel conflict.

Abba Father, bring calm, wisdom, and restraint along the Cambodia–Thailand border. May violence cease and peace prevail. Lord, protect the displaced families and all who live in fear near the conflict zone. Comfort those injured and grieving. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:9).

Lord, guide both nations to resolve long-standing disputes through dialogue and fairness so future generations can live safely. Amen (The Holy Bible, Romans 12:18).
