On January 11, 11 petrol stations in Thailand’s southern provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala were attacked with bombs and fire, injuring four people. The explosions happened around 1 a.m., and authorities quickly secured all sites and began investigating. The Energy Ministry increased security at remaining stations and asked operators to keep enough petrol for local demand, which is about 1.4 million litres per day. The damaged stations are owned by independent dealers. Officials said the attacks are believed to be linked to local elections held at the subdistrict level, not terrorism. Thai Defence Minister Nattaphon Narkphanit and Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed that the scenes were secured, and investigations were ongoing. Authorities are working to ensure fuel supplies remain stable, and the Energy Ministry reassured the public that the attacks would not cause shortages in the three provinces. Security has been tightened to protect other petrol stations and prevent further incidents.

Pray for the perpetrators behind the attacks to be quickly brought to justice. Pray for an improved security system in Thailand, especially in the southern part of the nation (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:15).

Pray for divine protection for the innocent civilians in southern Thailand. Pray for uninterrupted provision of all the basic needs and rights of the people in the country, especially in the southern region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
