The application process for universities in North Korea takes place in mid-January every year, though many students and their families are not pleased about it because admission is determined by money and connections. According to reports, nothing much counts in comparison to money when it comes to choosing those to admit to universities. For a student to get admission to a medical school, a huge bribe must be given, ranging sometimes to 2,000 Chinese yuan, and for teacher training colleges as well. This bribe is usually given to high-ranking government officials, like members of a party, police, or security personnel, to get a spot to be admitted because not many are to be admitted to a school; thus, a search ensues to get the best connections to get to a university. This situation has continued for many decades, making an impression on students that entering a university through an exam or a completion test is nothing much because little counts after all; thus, students from poor families have lost hope in attending universities and opted to make money instead.

Pray against bribes and partiality in the education system in North Korea. Pray for equal opportunities for students from both low-income and affluent families in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 12:5).

Pray for an improved education system in North Korea. Pray that, like the arrows in the hands of a warrior, the young people in the country, in the Hands of the Almighty GOD, are doing HIS Purpose (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).
