Gender-based violence (GBV) in Tajikistan is still a serious problem, even though the government has adopted some laws and policies. Many survivors, especially women, find it hard to get justice and protection because the law does not treat domestic violence as a crime on its own, and marital rape is not clearly recognized. Survivors often must gather their own evidence and pay for tests, and protection orders are not enforced well. Police and courts sometimes treat survivors badly, and many women are pressured to return to their abusers. Support services like shelters and legal help are few and mostly in cities, so women in rural areas struggle more. Fear of stigma, shame, and blame also stops many from reporting violence. The International Commission of Jurists report says that without better laws, more shelters and services, training for officials, and changes in social attitudes, survivors will continue to suffer and be denied justice, safety, and dignity.

Pray for the lawmakers to create new and better laws to do justice for the victims of domestic violence in Tajikistan. Pray for justice to be served for the victims (The Holy Bible, Job 36:6).

Pray for the availability of increased support services to the victims in rural areas in Tajikistan. Pray for the government to take more effective action to end the gender-based violence in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 37:6).
