Jordan took part in the ministerial session of the Arab League’s Economic and Social Council, chaired by Algeria, with its delegation led by Ambassador Amjad Al-Adaileh. The session followed preparatory meetings of senior officials and experts. The Council approved Jordan’s proposal to establish the Arab Network for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, commending the initiative for strengthening Arab economic cooperation and integration. It also discussed Jordan’s proposal to create the first interactive Arab glossary on sustainability and the circular economy. The meeting addressed major economic and social issues, including humanitarian crises in Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia; developments in Arab trade and customs cooperation; investment, artificial intelligence and its impact on labor markets; and support for development initiatives in Yemen, Palestine, and Sudan. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit highlighted worsening humanitarian conditions, global economic challenges, and the need to leverage shared Arab strengths, stressing that artificial intelligence represents a key strategic opportunity for the region.

Abba Father, we lift up the people suffering from conflict, hunger, and instability. May relief reach the afflicted, hope rise among the weary, and peace replace fear. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:9).

Lord, bless efforts that promote fair trade, sustainable development, and opportunity for all, especially the vulnerable and unemployed. Amen (The Holy Bible, Amos 5:24).
