The conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan has become more serious. Fighting began after Pakistan carried out airstrikes in Afghan border provinces in February 2026, saying it was targeting militant groups responsible for attacks inside Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban government denied this and said the strikes killed civilians and violated its territory. Since then, both sides have exchanged airstrikes, artillery fire, and drone attacks along the long border between the two countries. Dozens of civilians have been killed or injured, and thousands of people have fled their homes because of the violence. The United Nations has warned about the humanitarian situation and asked both sides to protect civilians. Pakistan accuses Afghanistan of allowing militants such as the Pakistani Taliban to operate from its territory, while Afghanistan rejects these claims. Some countries, including China, are trying to mediate and reduce tensions. However, clashes and military actions continue, and the situation remains unstable and dangerous in the region.

Pray for the success of the international authorities’ peace efforts between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pray for friendly and peaceful relations between the two countries. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the border region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 122:7).

Pray for divine protection and provision for the people living on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pray for peaceful cooperation between the two countries for the welfare of both countries’ border communities (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:14).
