Pray For Peace
Pray for peace in Myanmar. Ask God to protect civilians and to bring an end to violence that has displaced communities and destroyed livelihoods.
Pray for those with influence to pursue pathways that protect human life and allow communities to rebuild.
Pray for reconciliation that reaches beyond temporary agreements and into relationships wounded by years of conflict.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Matthew 5:9
Pray For The Church
Pray for Christians who continue serving their communities amid insecurity, displacement, and economic hardship.
Pray for pastors, elders, evangelists, and ordinary Christian Believers who carry responsibilities far beyond the walls of their churches.
Ask God to give them courage, wisdom, and endurance, particularly when ministry requires personal sacrifice.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair.
2 Corinthians 4:8
Pray For Healing After Disaster
Pray for communities still recovering from the March 2025 earthquake and from repeated floods, cyclones, and other disasters. The earthquake caused enormous damage across central Myanmar, while other disasters have repeatedly displaced vulnerable families.
Pray for reconstruction that reaches ordinary households rather than leaving the most vulnerable behind. Ask God to use Christian compassion to demonstrate His character through practical service.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
Pray For The Next Generation
Pray that trauma and uncertainty will not define an entire generation. Pray for teachers who continue to educate children, for Christian families who provide stability, and for churches that create safe places where young people can ask difficult questions.
Pray for young Christian Believers to develop a faith that is deep enough to withstand hardship. Pray that they will become servants, peacemakers, teachers, and witnesses who carry the hope of Christ into communities that desperately need it.
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9

Major language: Burmese, alongside many Indigenous and regional languages
Myanmar stretches from the mountains of the Himalayas toward the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The country is shaped by the Irrawaddy River, fertile plains, forested mountains, and a long coastline. Yangon and Mandalay remain major population centers, while vast areas of Chin, Kachin, Shan, Kayah, Karen, and Rakhine States contain communities separated by mountains, forests, rivers, and difficult roads.
The country is home to remarkable ethnic and linguistic diversity, with the Bamar forming the largest ethnic group, while Shan, Karen, Rakhine, Kachin, Chin, Mon, Karenni, and numerous other communities maintain their own histories, languages, and cultural identities.
Myanmar has endured years of conflict, displacement, and economic hardship. The March 2025 earthquake added another devastating layer of suffering, affecting millions and damaging homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. The continuing humanitarian crisis has left millions displaced and many more dependent upon assistance.
Myanmar’s cities contain another dimension of this story. Yangon and Mandalay bring together students, merchants, professionals, families, and people displaced from other parts of the country. Rural communities, meanwhile, can face profound isolation, particularly when conflict, damaged infrastructure, or displacement makes travel difficult.
Christianity has a long history in Myanmar and has a particularly significant presence among several ethnic peoples, including communities in Chin, Kachin, Karen, and other areas.
Buddhism has profoundly influenced Myanmar’s culture, history, and public life. Monasteries, pagodas, and Buddhist traditions are visible throughout the country, while Buddhist identity is deeply intertwined with the lives of many Bamar and other communities.
Millions of people have been affected by conflict and displacement, with humanitarian needs reaching across the country. By mid-2025, around 3.5 million people were internally displaced, and nearly 20 million people were estimated to need humanitarian assistance.
Traditional beliefs also continue to influence spiritual life in many communities. Beliefs concerning ancestors, spirits, and the unseen world may exist alongside formal religious identity.
Pray For The Bamar People
Pray for the Bamar majority and for the millions of people whose cultural identity has been shaped by Burmese language, history, and Buddhist tradition. Pray for Christians who have opportunities to build genuine friendships with Bamar families and young adults.
Ask God to awaken spiritual hunger and create opportunities for people to encounter the Gospel in ways they can understand.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psalm 103:13
Pray For The Remote Communities
Pray for people living in mountainous and remote parts of Myanmar, where geography can make access to education, healthcare, Scripture, and Christian fellowship extremely difficult.
Pray for local Christian Believers who can carry the Gospel into their own communities and for resources that can travel where roads cannot.
He will tend His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His arms.
Isaiah 40:11
Pray For The Gospel To Cross Every Barrier
Pray for the Gospel to cross ethnic, linguistic, geographic, and social boundaries throughout Myanmar.
Ask God to raise up translators, teachers, evangelists, church planters, and disciples who can clearly communicate biblical truth within communities that remain difficult to reach.
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16
Heavenly Father,
We bring Myanmar before You.
You know every village hidden among the mountains, every family along the Irrawaddy, every child growing up in uncertainty, and every person who has been forced from home. You know the Bamar, Shan, Karen, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Mon, Karenni, and every other people and community across this land. You know their languages, their histories, and their wounds.
We ask You to bring peace.
Protect civilians. Strengthen families. Provide for those who have lost homes and livelihoods. Bring healing to communities wounded by years of violence and displacement. We pray for the Church. Give pastors courage, give Christian Believers endurance, and give Christian leaders wisdom to serve without growing weary. Raise up disciples from within every people and language community.
We pray for children and young people. Protect their futures. Restore opportunities for education. Give them people who will listen to them, teach them, and show them the love of Christ.
Father, open doors for the Gospel where doors appear closed. Give Your people wisdom to cross cultural and linguistic barriers. Raise up translators, evangelists, teachers, missionaries, and ordinary Christian Believers who will carry the good news into places where it has not been clearly heard.
Let Myanmar not be remembered only for its suffering. Let it also become known for communities transformed by the hope of Jesus Christ.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
