Pray for Christians serving among migrants
Lord Jesus, make churches across the UAE places of welcome and spiritual family for people living far from home. Give Christian communities unity across nationality and language.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Colossians 3:15
Pray for workers who feel invisible
Father, remind workers who feel forgotten that their lives have dignity and purpose. Surround them with people who will treat them with honor and compassion. Give Christians opportunities to serve people who are often overlooked.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
Pray for Gospel conversations
Lord Jesus, create natural opportunities for people to ask about faith. Give Christian Believers wisdom about when to speak, when to listen, and how to explain the Gospel clearly and graciously.
For the grace of God that brings Salvation has appeared to all men,
Titus 2:11
Pray for every nation represented in the UAE
Father, let the Gospel reach the nations represented in the UAE. May people from every background encounter Jesus and carry the good news beyond the UAE to their families and communities around the world.
For the grace of God that brings Salvation has appeared to all men,

Capital: Abu Dhabi
Federation: Seven Emirates
Official Language: Arabic
Widely Used Languages: English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Nepali, Persian, and many others
Dominant Religious Tradition: Islam
The UAE’s population reached approximately 11.5 million in 2025, with a life expectancy of about 83 years.
The country’s enormous expatriate population means that many distinct people groups live side by side within the same cities.
Seven Emirates — One Prayer Field
The UAE is a federation of:
Abu Dhabi
Dubai
Sharjah
Ajman
Umm Al Quwain
Ras Al Khaimah
Fujairah
Each emirate has its own character. Abu Dhabi is the political capital. Dubai is an international commercial center. Sharjah has a strong cultural and educational identity. The northern emirates include mountain and coastal communities. But spiritually, the borders between the emirates are not the most important boundaries.
The more significant boundaries can be language, religion, culture, nationality, and access to the gospel.
The People Behind The Skyline
The UAE is home to a remarkable mix of people.
Among the communities living there are Emirati Arabs, Yemeni Arabs, Southern Baloch, Bengalis, Sindhis, Punjabis, Nepalis, Hazaras, Goans, Tamils, Malayalis, Palestinians, Sudanese, Egyptians, Filipinos, and many other communities.
The mission field is the community living next door.
Legal restrictions on evangelism and religious conversion
One of the most significant challenges for Christian evangelism in the UAE is the legal framework governing religious activity. Although the country permits recognized non-Muslim communities to worship in designated settings, religious expression and proselytism are regulated. Federal legislation addressing contempt for religion, discrimination, and hatred, alongside laws governing religious activities, can have significant implications for how Christians share their faith.
Attempts to persuade Muslims to abandon Islam or convert to another religion can result in legal consequences. Religious organizations may also need to comply with licensing and authorization requirements for worship, teaching, and related activities.
These conditions can limit opportunities for public evangelism, unrestricted distribution of Christian literature, and open religious discussions in certain settings. Christians therefore need wisdom to understand the law and distinguish between permitted religious practices and activities that may expose them or others to legal risks.
The challenge is to maintain a faithful Christian witness while respecting the law and the rights and dignity of people from every religious background.
Strong Islamic traditions and cultural identity
Islam is deeply woven into Emirati history, family life, national identity, and social customs. For many Emirati citizens, religious faith is closely connected to their heritage, relationships, and sense of belonging.
Consequently, a person who considers following Jesus may face difficult questions about family loyalty, cultural identity, marriage, and community acceptance. Embracing Christianity may be interpreted by relatives as a rejection of Islam and the traditions that have shaped family life for generations.
Evangelism in this context requires sensitivity, patience, and genuine friendship. Christians must communicate the Gospel without hostility towards Islam or disrespect for Emirati culture. The aim is to help people understand the Christian message and freely explore the person of Jesus Christ, rather than to create conflict or undermine family relationships.
Reaching Emirati citizens with the Gospel
Although expatriate churches are an important part of the UAE’s Christian landscape, reaching Emirati citizens presents distinctive challenges. Religious conversion from Islam is a particularly sensitive matter, and individuals who explore Christianity may be concerned about family reactions, social standing, or potential legal and personal consequences.
Some may have questions about the Bible, the identity of Jesus, the Trinity, salvation, or the differences between Christian and Islamic beliefs. Opportunities to discuss these subjects openly can be limited by social expectations and legal restrictions.
Christian witness therefore requires respectful dialogue, careful listening, and a willingness to answer questions honestly. The challenge is not merely to communicate Christian teachings, but to do so with integrity, compassion, and respect for each person’s freedom of conscience.
Social and family pressures on those exploring Christianity
People who come from Muslim backgrounds may face strong family expectations to remain within Islam. Some may fear losing close relationships, acceptance within their community, or the ability to participate fully in family traditions. The level of pressure varies, and not every person who explores Christianity experiences opposition.
For those who do encounter resistance, the consequences can be deeply personal. A person may struggle to reconcile a growing interest in Jesus with loyalty to parents, spouses, or extended family. Some may choose to keep their questions private because they are uncertain how others will respond.
Christians should pray for those seeking truth, asking that they be given opportunities to explore their questions without intimidation. Believers who know people from different religious backgrounds can demonstrate Christ’s love through genuine friendship, integrity, and respect, without pressuring anyone to change their beliefs.
Reaching expatriate workers and vulnerable communities
The UAE’s large expatriate population creates a distinctive mission environment. Many Christians come from countries such as India, the Philippines, and various African nations to work in construction, domestic service, hospitality, healthcare, and other sectors. While established churches serve many expatriates, access to fellowship and pastoral support can vary considerably.
Some migrant workers experience loneliness, financial pressures, demanding work schedules, language barriers, or separation from their families. These circumstances can make it difficult to attend church regularly, receive discipleship, or find a supportive Christian community.
The challenge is to care for Christian Believers holistically. Churches can support expatriates through pastoral care, appropriate practical assistance, prayer, and fellowship, while ensuring that humanitarian help is never conditional on religious participation. Christian communities also need to be attentive to people whose work arrangements or living conditions limit their ability to participate in church life.
Restrictions on Christian literature and digital evangelism
Printed materials, online communications, and digital media can help people learn about Christianity, particularly when face-to-face religious discussions are difficult. However, the UAE regulates religious proselytism and certain forms of religious expression, including material considered insulting to religion or contrary to the law.
These restrictions can affect how Christian books, recordings, websites, social media posts, and other resources are distributed or shared. Christian organizations must exercise particular care when publishing or circulating religious content, especially when it is intended to encourage conversion among Muslims.
The challenge is to make sound biblical teaching available through lawful and appropriate channels while protecting the people involved. Prayer is needed for wisdom for Christian communicators, translators, publishers, and ministry leaders as they seek to serve people from different language groups.
Church registration and access to worship facilities
The UAE permits recognized Christian communities to worship in designated facilities, and churches serve congregations representing many nationalities. Nevertheless, religious organizations must navigate licensing, registration, and local requirements governing their activities and places of worship. Procedures and administrative arrangements may differ among the seven emirates.
Obtaining suitable facilities, maintaining authorized activities, and securing approvals for certain gatherings can present practical challenges. Churches also need to provide space for worship, biblical teaching, fellowship, and pastoral care while complying with applicable regulations.
The challenge is to sustain strong Christian communities within the permitted framework. Pray for church leaders to receive wisdom, for administrative processes to be fair and clear, and for congregations to have suitable places where believers can worship peacefully.
Discipleship and spiritual growth among Christian Believers
The presence of Christian congregations does not mean every Christian Believer has access to consistent discipleship. Expatriate Christians may move frequently because of employment changes, visa requirements, or family circumstances. Others may have limited time for church activities because of demanding work schedules.
New Christian Believers need opportunities to study Scripture, develop a sound understanding of Christian doctrine, and grow in their relationship with Christ. Pastors and ministry leaders must also be equipped to care for people from different cultural, linguistic, and denominational backgrounds.
The challenge is to build spiritually mature, united congregations that support believers through life’s transitions. Prayer is needed for faithful leaders, effective discipleship, strong Christian families, and a deeper commitment to prayer and the study of God’s Word.
Building bridges of understanding between religious communities
The UAE is home to people from many religious backgrounds, and public initiatives have encouraged interfaith dialogue and coexistence. These circumstances create opportunities for mutual understanding and peaceful relationships, although interfaith engagement does not necessarily permit evangelistic activity.
Christians may find opportunities to demonstrate their faith through professional integrity, kindness towards neighbors, care for the vulnerable, and respectful relationships with people of other religions. At the same time, they must recognize the boundaries governing religious expression and avoid actions that could be interpreted as unlawful proselytism.
The challenge is to be faithful witnesses to Christ through everyday life while respecting the convictions and dignity of others. Genuine Christian witness should reflect humility, honesty, compassion, and a willingness to serve without expecting anything in return.
Pray for Emirati families
Father, awaken a hunger for wisdom and truth among Emirati families. Give people freedom to explore the deepest questions of life and opportunities to encounter the Gospel.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever.
Psalm 111:10
Pray for the Bengali community
Lord Jesus, let Christian compassion reach Bengali workers and families. Give Christian Believers opportunities to serve them with dignity and build friendships through which the light of Christ can be seen.
If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
Isaiah 58:10
Pray for Yemeni Arabs
Father, be a refuge for Yemeni families living far from their homeland. Provide Christian friendships, Scripture, and opportunities for people to discover the hope found in Jesus.
The Name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10
Pray for the Southern Baloch
Lord Jesus, seek out the Southern Baloch. Open doors for the Gospel within their communities and raise up people who understand their language and culture.
for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10
Pray for the Hazara
Lord Jesus, meet people who carry spiritual thirst. Give Hazara families opportunities to encounter Your words and discover the living water You offer.
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
John 7:37
Pray for Goan families
Father, give Christian Christian Believers courage to build respectful friendships with Goan families. Give them wisdom to speak about Christ naturally and with genuine love.
Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.”
Acts 18:9–10
Heavenly Father,
We lift up the United Arab Emirates into Your loving and sovereign hands. We pray for the people of this nation, including Emirati citizens and the many expatriate communities who have made the UAE their home. Lord, we ask that You open hearts to the truth of Your Word and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. May those who are searching for meaning, peace, forgiveness, and hope have opportunities to encounter the Gospel and discover the transforming love of our Savior.
Father, we pray for Christians living and working in the UAE, particularly those who face restrictions in expressing their faith or sharing it with others. Strengthen them to remain steadfast in their walk with You, and grant them wisdom, discernment, and courage to be faithful witnesses through their words, conduct, and love for others. We thank You for the churches and Christian fellowships that serve believers from many nations, languages, and cultures. Bless their pastors, leaders, and congregations with spiritual maturity, unity, and a deep commitment to Your Word. Enable them to nurture Christian Believers, disciple new Christians, and provide loving fellowship for those who may feel isolated far from their families and homelands. Lord, we pray for the Emirati people, that they may have opportunities to explore the message of Jesus and encounter the truth of the Gospel without fear or coercion.
We remember migrant workers, laborers, domestic workers, and others who may experience loneliness, financial hardship, exploitation, or difficult working conditions. Protect the vulnerable, provide for those in need, and move the hearts of employers and authorities to uphold justice, dignity, and compassion. Father, we pray for the leaders of the UAE, granting them wisdom to govern with justice and to promote peace, religious tolerance, and freedom of conscience. May people of different faiths live together in mutual respect, and may Christians have opportunities to worship peacefully and practice their faith within the law. We pray for Christian families raising their children far from their countries of origin, for young people seeking direction, and for believers who must navigate different cultural and religious expectations.
Give them grace to live out their faith with humility, integrity, and love. Lord, open doors for appropriate access to Scripture and biblical teaching in the many languages spoken throughout the UAE. Raise up faithful witnesses who will reflect Christ’s character in their workplaces, homes, churches, and communities. May every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every expression of genuine compassion point people towards Your goodness.
Holy Spirit, move throughout Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and every emirate. Bring hope to the discouraged, comfort to the lonely, protection to the vulnerable, and spiritual awakening to those who are seeking You. May the Church in the UAE shine as a light among the nations, united in faith and steadfast in love, so that many may come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We entrust this nation and all its people to Your mercy, asking that Your peace, wisdom, and truth may prevail.
In the mighty and precious Name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
