A new report from the Habitat Association shows that young people in Türkiye are facing serious economic and psychological problems. Half of the youth are not working, and among those looking for jobs, only 16% feel hopeful about their future. Most young people earn very little, with two-thirds making under 30,000 TL (Turkish Lira) per month. Many feel the system is unfair, with few job opportunities and nepotism making it hard to succeed. Dreams of starting a business have fallen, with only 36% wanting to try entrepreneurship. Women are especially affected, with only 38% working compared to 59% of men. This creates a group of “house youth” who are neither in school nor in jobs. Experts warn that without major changes, low wages, unemployment, and unfair practices could leave an entire generation stuck, unhappy, and struggling to build a secure future in Türkiye.
Pray for the success of the government’s efforts to eliminate unemployment, especially among the youth population in Türkiye. Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to create more job opportunities for the increased workforce in the country. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:1-2).
Pray for an increase in women’s participation in the Türkiye’s workforce. Pray for gender equality in all sectors in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:5).
Almighty GOD, the One who makes a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, do a new thing in the lives of these young souls in Türkiye. Bless these young souls with new opportunities and new life in You. In Jesus’s Name, we pray. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 43:19).
