The ageing population in Thailand is becoming a serious national challenge that affects families, workers, and the economy. Birth rates are falling to the lowest level in decades, while more people are living into old age. This means the number of elderly citizens is growing, but the number of young workers is shrinking. As a result, the country may lose millions of workers in the coming years, which could slow economic growth and increase pressure on public services. Many young people say they want children, but they struggle with high living costs, job insecurity, and expensive childcare. Older people often depend on family support, while younger generations are already financially stretched. Policymakers and groups such as the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific are calling for stronger support, including childcare subsidies, higher wages, and family-friendly policies. The situation shows that Thailand must act quickly to balance its ageing society and support families so the country can remain stable and strong in the future.
Pray for the government of Thailand to take action to protect the elderly population and to improve workforce management in the nation. Pray for the authorities to come up with family-friendly policies to address the declining childbirth rate in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).
Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to devise new ideas to boost Thailand’s economy and workforce. Pray for the LORD to bless the nation with hope and a bright future (The Holy Bible, Psalm 31:15).
