Fighting in South Sudan has forced hundreds of thousands of civilians to leave their homes after repeated evacuation orders from both the military and opposition forces. Since late 2025, clashes between the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army in Opposition have increased, especially in Jonglei state. Both sides have ordered mass evacuations that put civilians in danger instead of protecting them. Many people fled after bombings, attacks, and threats, and at least 280,000 people have been displaced. Some areas have also faced attacks on hospitals, aid groups, and food supplies, making the crisis worse. Humanitarian workers report that access to help people has been blocked or restricted. Many displaced families are now living in poor conditions without enough food or medicine. Experts warn that these actions may break international law, as civilians should not be forced to move unless it is necessary for their safety.

Pray for the LORD’s intervention in South Sudan against the political unrest and escalation of violence. Pray for divine protection upon all the displaced families (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:17).

Heavenly Father, we pray for Your divine protection and provision for all the people suffering hunger and uncertainty in South Sudan. We pray for Your divine comfort and courage for the people who have lost their family members and materials in the name of war (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 17:7).
