Thailand’s New Year festival, Songkran, began on April 13 with lively street celebrations across the country. In Bangkok, people gathered on busy roads like Silom Road and Khaosan Road for large water fights using colorful water guns and buckets. The water splashing is done to symbolically wash away bad luck, sins, and negativity from the past year, so people can start the new year fresh and clean. It is also a fun way to cool down as temperatures rise above 40°C in many areas. The festival is Thailand’s most important public holiday, and many people travel back to their hometowns to spend time with family. Authorities have warned about extreme heat, dehydration, and the dangers of staying too long in the sun. Emergency teams and drinking water stations have been set up to help keep people safe during the celebrations. Tourists also join the festival, but some travel has decreased due to high flight costs and rising fuel prices this year.

Lord Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd, give the people of Thailand the ‘Living Water’ and lead them towards repentance and Salvation (The Holy Bible, John 4:10).

Lord Holy Spirit of GOD, open the minds and eyes of the people of Thailand, to understand that only by the Blood of Jesus Christ, the SON of GOD, one can be cleansed and purified (The Holy Bible, 1 John 1:7).
