Pray For The Malay People
Pray for Malay families, students, professionals, and young adults. Pray for opportunities for genuine friendships with Christians and for conversations about Jesus to happen naturally, respectfully, and without fear.
Ask God to awaken a hunger for truth and to place the right people, circumstances, and Scripture passages in the path of those who are searching.
For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.
Psalm 36:9
Pray For Malaysia’s Young People
Pray for the millions of Malaysian children, teenagers, and young adults growing up in an intensely connected digital world. Pray for students facing academic expectations, questions about identity, and pressure to succeed.
Ask God to raise Christian mentors who can walk alongside young people with wisdom and patience.
Let your heart hold fast My words; keep My commandments, and live.
Proverbs 4:4
Pray For Kuala Lumpur And The Cities
Pray for the great urban centers of Malaysia. Pray for Christian students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and families to become communities of welcome in places where people can easily become surrounded by crowds yet remain deeply lonely.
Ask God to open doors for the Gospel through workplaces, universities, friendships, and ordinary daily encounters.
Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.
Colossians 4:5
Pray For Christian Unity
Pray for Malaysian Christians from different ethnic, linguistic, and denominational backgrounds. Ask God to remove unnecessary divisions and create a visible unity centered on Christ.
Pray that Christian Believers will demonstrate that the Gospel creates a family whose deepest identity is found not in ethnicity or social position but in Jesus.
For just as the body is one and has many members… so it is with Christ.

Major religions: Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, and Indigenous traditions
Major languages: Malay, English, Mandarin, Tamil, and numerous Indigenous languages
Malaysia is a nation divided by the South China Sea yet connected by a remarkable diversity of peoples, cultures, and histories. Peninsular Malaysia stretches between Thailand and Singapore, while Sabah and Sarawak occupy the northern portion of Borneo. The country moves from the high-rise skyline of Kuala Lumpur to the ancient rainforests of Borneo, from crowded industrial centers to fishing villages and remote interior communities.
The country’s demographic picture includes Malays, Chinese, Indians, and many Indigenous peoples. Recent official statistics also identify significant Sabah communities, including Kadazan/Dusun, Bajau, and Murut, while Sarawak includes large Iban, Bidayuh, and Melanau populations.
Malaysia cannot be described as one people with one culture. The Malay heartlands of the peninsula, Chinese communities of the cities, Indian communities whose histories stretch back generations, the Orang Asli peoples, and the many Indigenous peoples of Sabah and Sarawak each carry distinct histories and identities.
The Indigenous peoples of Borneo alone represent an extraordinary diversity. Kadazan/Dusun, Bajau, and Murut communities are prominent in Sabah, while Iban, Bidayuh, and Melanau communities are among the major Indigenous peoples of Sarawak. Official demographic records show hundreds of thousands of people across several of these communities.
The Orang Asli of Peninsular Malaysia are not a single cultural group either. Their communities have their own languages, traditions, and histories. Some live in rural and forest environments where distance can make access to education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and Christian resources more difficult.
Malaysia is also increasingly urban. Millions live in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, and other growing cities. Universities, technology companies, factories, plantations, ports, and service industries bring together people from diverse backgrounds, including large migrant worker communities.
Faith and identity are closely connected in Malaysia. For many people, religion is not simply a private belief but part of family, community, and cultural identity.
In Malaysia, “They’ve Never Heard” does not always mean that a person has never encountered the word Christianity. A person may know that Christians exist, recognize a church building, or have Christian friends, yet still have little understanding of the Gospel.
For some, the greatest barrier is geography. For others, it may be language, family expectations, cultural identity, or limited access to Christian relationships. Some live in communities where Christian witness is familiar; others belong to people groups with far fewer opportunities to encounter a clear explanation of who Jesus is.
There are students searching for meaning, young adults trying to determine what they believe, Indigenous communities preserving their heritage, families facing economic pressure, and migrant workers far from home.
Pray For Sabah
Pray for the peoples of Sabah, including Kadazan/Dusun, Bajau, Murut, and many other communities. Pray for Christian leaders who understand the local cultures and languages and who will equip local Christian Believers rather than create dependence upon outside leadership.
Ask God to strengthen discipleship in villages, towns, and remote communities.
I am the LORD; I have called you in righteousness; I have taken you by the hand and kept you.
Isaiah 42:6
Pray For Sarawak
Pray for Iban, Bidayuh, Melanau, and the many other peoples of Sarawak. Pray for churches to grow beyond inherited religious identity into deep biblical discipleship.
Pray that the younger generation will see faith in Christ as living, relevant, and worthy of their whole lives.
May His name endure forever, His fame continue as long as the sun!
Psalm 72:17
Pray For The Orang Asli
Pray for the Orang Asli communities of Peninsular Malaysia. Ask God to raise up people who will serve with humility and respect, listening carefully to communities rather than imposing outside assumptions upon them.
Pray for dignity, education, sustainable livelihoods, strong families, and opportunities for people to encounter the Gospel in their own cultural and linguistic context.
He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.
Deuteronomy 10:18
Pray For Migrant Workers
Pray for the many people who have come to Malaysia for work. Some live far from their families and home countries while working in construction, manufacturing, plantations, hospitality, domestic service, and other industries.
Pray for protection from exploitation and loneliness, and for Malaysian Christians to recognize the extraordinary opportunity to show Christ’s love to people from many nations.
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Hebrews 13:2
Father,
We bring Malaysia before You.
You know every island, every city, every village, and every community. You know the Malay family in the peninsula, the Indigenous family in Borneo, the student in Kuala Lumpur, the worker far from home, and the young person quietly asking questions about life and faith.
We ask You to draw people to Jesus.
Give Malaysian Christians courage to speak, wisdom to listen, and love that cannot be mistaken for mere religious duty. Raise up Christian Believers who will cross cultural boundaries, learn languages, build friendships, and serve people with humility.
Strengthen the churches of Sabah and Sarawak. Give the Orang Asli communities dignity and opportunity. Open doors among the Malay people. Give Christian witness wisdom in universities and cities. Place Your people among migrant workers and communities that have little access to the Gospel.
Raise up a new generation of Malaysian disciples who know Your Word, love Your Church, and carry the Gospel beyond the places where it is already familiar.
Father, let Malaysia become a place where people who have never truly heard the good news encounter Jesus through Scripture, through faithful Christian Believers, and through the transforming power of the Gospel.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
