The kidnapping crisis in Nigeria has become a serious problem affecting both children and religious leaders. In recent years, armed groups and bandits have carried out many abductions in different parts of the country, especially in the north. Schools, villages, churches, and even roads have become unsafe. A new report shows that over 200 priests were kidnapped between 2015 and 2025, showing how widespread the danger has become. In one major case, children and teachers from St Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State were taken and later released, but the incident caused fear across the country. Many victims are held for ransom, while some suffer violence or long captivity. Families and communities live with constant worry, not knowing if their loved ones will return safely. Although some hostages have been freed, the crisis continues and shows how insecurity is deeply affecting daily life, education, and religious practice across Nigeria.

LORD, we pray for Your divine intervention in Nigeria to end the violence against innocent civilians, especially school children and Christians. We pray for the immediate and safe return of all the kidnapped victims (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:19).

Almighty GOD, we pray for an improved security, political system, and economy in Nigeria to end kidnappings for ransom. We plead for Your divine protection upon believers and children from all evil. Help the Nigerian authorities to rescue all the victims soon (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:1-2).
