Morocco has made progress in education, but school dropouts are still a serious problem, according to UNESCO’s Education Monitoring 2026 report. Many children are now able to go to school, and the number of out-of-school children has dropped greatly since 2000. Still, a large number of students leave school before finishing. Only a few students who start school complete high school, and many leave during primary or middle school. In rural areas, the problem is worse because families face more difficulties in sending children to school. Some students also struggle with learning, especially in reading and mathematics, which makes it harder for them to continue. Repeating grades is common, and many students feel discouraged over time. Although the government is investing more in education and improving teacher training, inequality between rich and poor families still affects learning opportunities. Early childhood education has improved, but keeping students in school remains a big challenge for the country.

Prayer:

Pray for the success of all the efforts of the government to revive the education system and to curb the increasing number of school dropouts in Morocco. Pray for an improved education system in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).

Pray for all the students in Morocco to get access to their needs to continue and complete their education. Pray for increased economic support for the students from poor families to continue their education. Pray against social discrimination, which affects learning opportunities for poor Moroccan families (The Holy Bible, Psalm 40:17).
