A new threat is growing for global trade and shipping routes. The Strait of Hormuz has already become very difficult to use after strikes linked to the US and Israel against Iran. Now, the Houthis in Yemen are warning that they may also block the Bab El-Mandeb Strait. This narrow waterway connects the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. It is very important for ships carrying oil, gas, and goods between Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Houthis said they may target only ships linked to countries involved in attacks on Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iraq. However, experts warn that any closure could affect global trade and energy supply. Shipping companies may face delays, higher costs, and increased risks. Many countries rely on this route, so tensions in the region could harm the global economy and increase fuel prices for consumers worldwide.
