Pray for Egypt - facebook page

Egypt remains the most populous country in the Arab world and holds great regional and global influence. Amid an increasingly repressive government, Egypt is terrorized by Islamic extremism. Militants led an insurgency, bringing widespread terror and the tragic deaths of thousands. Political unrest has inhibited the nation from addressing economic problems, corruption, and strained resources. Egypt was a Majority-Christian nation and today it remains home to the Middle East’s largest body of Christians - the Coptic Church (12%). Evangelical Christianity is on the rise, though still only about 3% of the population. Yet Islam remains the state religion and the faith of 87% of its people. Though the Egyptian Church has endured persecution, recent instability and the presence of the Islamic State have intensified its suffering. Horrific scenes of church bombings have brought the plight of Egyptian Christians to the world stage. However, even as persecution increases, so does the number of Muslims turning to Christ!

Praise Report
Praise God for those who turned to Christ in spite of the increase in persecution. Praise God for the Church that grew in unity above the theological differences (The Bible, Ephesians 4:13).

Prayer Request
Pray that there will be a stable and trustworthy government to act in the interest of all its people of Egypt (The Bible, Psalm 65:9).
Pray that the Coptic and the Evangelical Christians will withstand the onslaught of the enemy and ultimately win for God (The Bible, Luke 10:19).

Call to Salvation
Pray that the Church will continue to overcome evil with divine forgiveness and God’s glory will be revealed to Egyptians in an unprecedented way (The Bible, 1 Peter 4:13).
