About one millions Rohingya people from Myanmar currently live in southern Bangladesh. Domdomia is a village of around 750 households in the Cox Bazaar District. Just over 200 are Bangladeshi families, while the rest are Rohingyas. The local Bangladeshi community is learning to work together with the Rohingya refugees to meet their joint needs. One Bangladeshi family offered part of their farmland for the Rohingya to build shelters on in return for a small rent. Another family offered their private property for a well to be built providing clean water. Local development committees are functioning well to facilitate this community building. Praise God for these relationships and pray protection over them (The Bible, John 13:34).
