Pray for Nigeria - facebook page

Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation, largest economy and oil producer, but it struggles with astounding levels of corruption which has resulted in poor development and infrastructure. The divides between radical Islam in the north and Christianity in the south have been further muddied by the increasing violence of the nomadic Muslim Hausa-Fulani herdsmen in the central part of the nation. Jihadist group Boko Haram’s ten-year insurgency to impose sharia law on the country has resulted in more than two million people displaced and 30,000 dead. Christians have spoken of the spirit of death that hangs over this nation. Nigeria also hosts some of the world’s largest churches in the nation’s southern cities.

Praise Report
Praise God for a new prayer movement called Pray for Nigeria. Ask God to stir the Church in Nigeria and internationally to intercede with power and passion for change to come in this nation (The Bible, Ezekiel 22:30-31).

Prayer Requests
A spirit of death and violence grips this nation. Boko Haram Islamic insurgency group continues to wreak violence in the north. The Fulani tribes inflict violence in the central region. Pray that God would uproot this spirit of violence, and bring His Kingdom (The Bible, Psalm 11:5).
Pray for Christians in Nigeria to discern how God is calling them to respond to the needs of their nation (The Bible, Acts 20:35).

Call to Salvation
Pray for breakthroughs in evangelism efforts among the Fulani and Hausa people groups (The Bible, 2 Chronicles 7:15).
