A recent study showed that the deterioration of religious freedom in Malaysia worries not only the country’s Christians and other minorities, but also Muslims. Muslims can be prosecuted for not fasting or for refusing to pray, and women are under increasing pressure to wear the Islamic veil. Shia Islam and other non-Sunni sects are banned. Muslims cannot convert to other religions, and anyone who marries a Muslim must embrace Islam or leave the country. Pray for Muslims who would like to experience the freedom to choose which religion to follow to be bold and brave to make that choice (The Bible, Psalm 27:1-3).

Concerns are growing that Malaysia is going backward in terms of religious freedom (Asia News)
