The US State Department has sanctioned four top military generals and has called for investigation and prosecution for war crimes and genocide. The United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar, Yanghee Lee, has said that international sanctions should be much tougher. Two years after ethnic violence towards the Rohingya people began, there seems to be no end in sight. Bangladesh, hosting almost a million Rohingya refugees, has called for international financial sanctions against Myanmar.
