Vietnam is both a source and a destination for human trafficking. People from Vietnam are trafficked for sexual and manual labor to nations including China, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia and the UK. Vietnam also is a destination for children who are trafficked for the sex industry. Many people are trafficked by being tricked into false marriages, or being offered jobs with good pay. There is a lack of awareness about human trafficking and those who are uneducated are vulnerable.
