Child marriage in Laos remains a serious issue, especially in remote villages where poverty, distance, and lack of education shape daily life. Many girls marry at 14 or 15 and quickly become mothers, often without proper healthcare or knowledge. Some give birth in unsafe conditions, which puts both mother and baby at risk. Leaving school early is common, as families may not see its value, especially for girls. This limits their future opportunities and keeps the cycle of poverty going. National leaders are now paying more attention to this problem. In a recent seminar, they discussed ways to protect children, improve education, and end child marriage. Experts agree that keeping girls in school and giving them access to healthcare and information can change their lives. Ending child marriage would not only protect young girls but also help the country grow stronger, healthier, and more equal for future generations of children and families across Laos.

LORD, we stand in the gap for all the girl children in Laos. We plead for Your divine intervention in the country for the little souls to have access to education and other basic needs. LORD, equip them and use them for Your Glory, Father (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).

Pray against the child marriage system in Laos. Pray for the authorities to respect and uphold the rights and freedoms of the women and girls in the nation. Pray for equal and uninterrupted access to all basic needs and rights for all Laotian women and girls. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 64:1).
