BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed concern over the Bangladeshi government’s lack of visible preparation for a potential new wave of COVID-19, especially as new variants spread in nearby countries like India. Speaking at a press briefing, he pointed out past shortages of oxygen, test kits, and essential medical supplies, particularly outside Dhaka. He urged the health ministry to take immediate action and reassure the public by ensuring availability of emergency drugs and oxygen in both urban and rural hospitals. Rizvi criticized the ministry’s silence and called for transparency and proactive planning to protect lives.

Abba Father, cover Bangladesh with Your healing hand. Protect the people from any coming wave of illness and give strength to doctors, nurses, and caregivers in every district. (The Holy Bible, Exodus 15:26).

Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in Bangladesh. Pray for the success of all the efforts of the government to control the transmission of the virus (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 17:14).
