Pray for churches and Christian fellowships
Bahrain has numerous Christian congregations serving different language communities. Pray for unity across languages and traditions, for mature leaders, and for a clear heart for those who have not heard.
Lord Jesus, strengthen every faithful fellowship in Bahrain. Make Your people one, so that the world around them may believe.
that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
John 17:21
Pray for Christian Believers under pressure
Those who leave Islam for another faith may face pressure from family or community, and some choose not to speak publicly about their faith.
Father, strengthen Christian Believers who face pressure because of their faith. Give them wisdom about when to speak and when to listen, and help them remain faithful with grace.
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
2 Corinthians 4:8
Pray for migrant communities
Bahrain’s expatriate population includes people from South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and elsewhere in the Middle East. Pray that Christians would see every migrant worker as a person created in God’s image.
Lord, give Your Church opportunities to serve, befriend, and encourage people from many nations.
Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 10:19
Pray for witness through friendship
Pray that Christian witness in Bahrain would be built on genuine friendship, with patience to listen and understand other cultures.
Father, let Christian Believers share not only the Gospel but their lives, and let their relationships reflect the love of Jesus Christ.
So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
1 Thessalonians 2:8

Unreached people groups: 10
Bahrain is a small island nation in the Arabian Gulf with a remarkably diverse population. Islam is the official religion and is deeply connected to the social and cultural life of the country, yet Bahrain also permits registered non-Islamic communities to maintain places of worship, and many Christian congregations serve its expatriate communities.
Bahraini Arabs
Both Shia and Sunni. The Bahraini Shia Arab community is the largest single people group in the country, and the evangelical Christian presence among them remains below 2%.
South Asian communities
Malayalis, Tamils, Telugus, and others, many of them from South India. Their religious identities and access to the Gospel vary considerably.
Other expatriate communities
People from Southeast Asia, Africa, and elsewhere in the Middle East, each with its own language and culture. Recent UNHCR data also records several hundred refugees and asylum seekers.
A person can cross a street in Manama and encounter several languages, cultures, and religious traditions within minutes. For the Church, the mission field is not only Bahrain’s citizens; it includes the nations living within Bahrain.
Of Bahrain’s 19 people groups, 10 are unreached, together numbering about 1.23 million people.
Bahrain has a visible Christian presence, but visible churches do not mean that every community has heard the Gospel. A Christian church may be only a few minutes away, a Bible may be available, and a Christian neighbor may live next door, yet someone can still live without ever hearing the Gospel clearly. A person may know that Christians worship Jesus without ever understanding why He came.
Faith and identity are closely bound together. Islam shapes family and community life, and conversion can carry real social costs.
The expatriate population is complex. Migrant communities bring many languages, cultures, and religious traditions, and a witness that reaches one community may not reach another.
Language matters too. Arabic is central to Bahraini life and English is widely used in business, while Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and many other languages are spoken at home. Some communities have few Christian resources designed for their language and culture.
Yet the opportunity is great. People from many nations already live within reach of Christian fellowship. Sometimes the mission field is crossed not by an airplane but by a conversation.
Pray for Bahraini families
Pray for families who have lived for generations within Bahrain’s Islamic culture, that they would have opportunities to encounter the Gospel without fear.
Father, reveal Yourself to Bahraini families, and draw their hearts toward the truth.
For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
Psalm 36:9
Pray for the Bahraini Shia Arab community
Pray for the large Bahraini Shia community and for those seeking truth within it.
Lord Jesus, let Your light shine into Bahraini communities. Meet people through Scripture, dreams, conversations, and relationships, and lead them to the truth of who You are.
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’
John 8:12
Pray for those who are quietly searching
Some people have questions about Jesus Christ but feel unable to discuss them openly.
Lord, meet those who are searching quietly. Give them courage to ask their questions, and place wise, trustworthy Christian Believers in their lives.
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.
Psalm 42:1
Pray for every people living in Bahrain
Pray for South Asian and other expatriate communities who have never heard, and for Scripture in every language spoken in Bahrain’s homes.
Father, let every community in Bahrain have a genuine opportunity to hear and respond to the good news, and gather people from every nation to worship You.
for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.
Isaiah 56:7
Father,
We bring Bahrain before You. You know every Bahraini family and every expatriate community, and every language spoken in its homes. You know those who openly follow You and those who are quietly searching for truth.
We pray for the unreached, for the curious, and for those who are afraid to ask questions. We pray for Christians who are serving faithfully. Give Your Church wisdom, courage, and love, and let Christian Believers become bridges between their neighbors and the Gospel. Strengthen churches, families, and Bible ministries, and open doors for conversations about Jesus Christ. Where people cannot yet speak openly, speak to their hearts in ways only You can.
May Bahrain become a place where people from many nations encounter the living Jesus Christ. May disciples multiply, may Scripture reach every language, and may every people living in Bahrain have the opportunity to hear the good news.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
