Pray for the Church in Taiwan
Taiwan’s churches are free to worship and well resourced. Pray that they would grow in depth and unity, and keep their eyes on the unreached at home and abroad.
Father, root Your Church in Taiwan deeply in Your Word. Give it unity, maturity, and a vision that reaches beyond its own walls.
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:7
Pray for workers
Taiwan sends workers to other nations. Pray for Taiwanese Christian Believers willing to serve among the Hakka, migrant workers, and the deaf at home, and for patience where mission has long been slow.
Lord of the harvest, open the eyes of Your people to the fields around them, and send them out with patience and joy.
Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
John 4:35
Pray for the next generation
Many young Taiwanese face heavy academic and work pressure. Pray that they would find hope and rest in Jesus Christ, and that God would raise up young leaders.
Lord Jesus, meet the weary students and young workers of Taiwan. Give them rest for their souls and a hope that outlasts every pressure.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Pray for peace and for the anxious
Taiwan lives with real uncertainty about its future. Pray for peace, for wisdom among those who lead, and for calm hearts among families who carry that worry daily.
Father, grant peace to Taiwan, and steady the hearts of those who fear what may come.
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Taiwan is a densely populated island of mountains and cities off the southeastern coast of Asia, known for its technology industry, its vibrant street life, and its full religious freedom. Christian Believers worship openly here, and the island sends workers to other nations, yet millions of its own people remain unreached.
Hakka
More than four million people, distinct in language, food, and custom. Hakka religious life blends Buddhism, Taoism, and ancestral veneration, and despite generations of mission effort, Christian Believers among them remain very few.
Indigenous Austronesian peoples
The Ami, Bunun, Paiwan, Rukai, Truku, and others of the mountains and east coast. Among them Christian faith is the majority tradition, in some groups above half the population.
Other communities
The Hui Muslim minority, Malay and Thai migrant workers, and the Deaf community, whose sign language has only portions of Scripture.
The contrast is striking. The same island holds one of Asia’s strongest indigenous Christian communities and one of its largest unreached peoples.
Of Taiwan’s 32 people groups, 7 are unreached and 2 are frontier, communities with almost no followers of Jesus Christ and no known movement toward Him. Around 4.3 million people live in unreached groups, and evangelical Christian Believers make up roughly 3% of the population.
The barrier here is rarely access. Complete Bibles exist in Mandarin, Min Nan, Hakka, Amis, Atayal, Bunun, Paiwan, Rukai, and Sediq. For many Hakka families, the obstacle is the weight of family tradition and ancestral veneration, where turning to Jesus Christ can feel like abandoning one’s family.
Where translation gaps remain, they are significant. Taiwan Sign Language has only portions of Scripture, and Saisiyat and Sakizaya have none.
Pray for the Hakka
Pray for the Hakka people, more than four million strong and still largely without Jesus Christ, that God would open hearts, draw whole families to Himself, and raise up witnesses within their own communities.
Lord, let the Hakka see Your glory. Open the Bibles already in their language, and bring a movement of faith among Hakka families.
Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
Psalm 96:3
Pray for migrant workers and the Hui
Pray for Malay and Thai migrant workers far from home, and for the Hui Muslim minority, that they would meet Christian Believers who welcome them as neighbors.
Father, let Taiwan’s churches welcome the stranger, and let migrant workers and Hui families see Jesus Christ in that welcome.
for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
Matthew 25:35
Pray for the Deaf and for Scripture still lacking
Pray for full Scripture in Taiwan Sign Language, Saisiyat, and Sakizaya, for Deaf Christian leaders, and for Christian workers who can share the Gospel in each person’s own language.
Lord, open ears and eyes to Your Word in every language of Taiwan, including the language of the hands.
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Isaiah 35:5
Father,
We pray for Taiwan, an island of mountains and crowded cities, free to worship You and strong in sending, yet still home to millions who do not know You. You know the Hakka villages and the high-rise apartments, the mountain churches of the indigenous peoples, the migrant dormitories, and every person who has never heard the Gospel.
Raise up Taiwanese Christian Believers for the unreached among them and for the nations beyond. Give Your Church depth, unity, and outward vision. Provide Scripture where it is still lacking, and open the Bibles already in people’s hands. Move among Taiwan’s young people and give them rest in Jesus Christ. Grant peace to this island, and steady every anxious heart.
Let the name of Jesus Christ be honored in every Hakka home, every Deaf community, and every gathering of workers far from home, and let Taiwan become a testimony of Your grace among the nations.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
